We used footsteps as the main element in this track, blending them throughout to dictate the mood and progression. At first, we introduce a regular walking pattern without revealing that the footsteps are actually on tempo the entire time, secretly creating the foundation of the song.

We sampled and blended these footsteps as part of the percussive elements, creatively transforming them into snares, hi-hats, and kick drums. Guitars serve as another core element, building atmosphere around the journey, gradually evolving into something orchestral, epic, and hopeful.

This elongated build-up conveys a sense of loneliness, adventure, and determination as we follow the path of "The Trek"

At the core of this tale is a love story - a knight who is trying to return to his queen’s side, traveling hundreds of miles to see her again. His journey across frozen tundras and mountains are as harsh and treacherous as they are isolating. He is tired, losing his sense of direction on multiple occasions, but our protagonist remains true to his quest of returning to his queen and her home. This story of the dangers of harsh environments, isolation, and the willing nature and passion of a knight separated from his true love is what we aim to tell with this submission.
